Hi, I’m Mikaela. With a background in social work and psychology, I bring experience from various settings, including hospitals, the family violence sector, and university wellbeing programs. I’ve had the privilege of working with adolescents and adults from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds, helping them navigate a wide range of mental health concerns and life challenges.
I’m passionate about empowering individuals through a non-judgmental, evidence-based approach, tailored to each person's unique needs. My therapeutic focus is on helping people develop more compassionate relationships with themselves, clarifying what brings them meaning, and becoming more present in their lives. I believe that by cultivating self-compassion and mindfulness, we can all live more fulfilling and resilient lives.
I work from a biopsychosocial approach, understanding that mental health is influenced by a complex interplay of biological, psychological, and social factors. By addressing all aspects of a person’s life—physical health, emotional well-being, relationships, and environment—I aim to provide holistic care that supports long-term healing and resilience. This comprehensive perspective ensures that no part of a person’s experience is overlooked, and it allows for truly individualized care that addresses root causes, not just symptoms.
Outside of therapy, I enjoy running and understand first-hand the value of staying active for both physical and emotional well-being.
