Katrina is a client-focused, holistic psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and adults, supporting people to heal in ways that honour the whole person. My approach is neuro-affirming and trauma-informed, recognising that mental health is shaped by the interaction of development, environment, lived experience, biology, and relationships — not by deficits or labels.
I believe neurodivergence is not something to be fixed, but an existence to be understood, supported, and respected. Assessments with me are thorough, practical, and compassionate, grounded in evidence-based methods while remaining flexible to each individual’s unique neurodivergent profile, strengths, and needs.
Outside the therapy room, I’m a mum to three energetic boys, an ocean-lover, and an animal enthusiast with a soft spot for horses. I also share my workspace with a therapy bird, who occasionally steals the show and reminds us all to slow down, stay curious, and breathe. I believe healing happens best when people feel seen, supported, and empowered to be exactly who they are.
Please note you DO NOT need a referral from your GP for an assessment. Simply follow the instructions below:
1. Book Your Session
You’ll start by logging into our secure booking portal to select a date and time that suits you. This is your 1:1 Telehealth (online) Assessment with Katrina.
The total cost of the combined assessment is $900. A non-refundable deposit of $200 is required at the time of booking to secure your session.
The remaining $700 will be sent as an invoice and is due one week before your session.
Payment options: Afterpay is available for the remaining $700. If you’d like to use Afterpay for the full amount, please email us at hello@peninsulawellnessandtherapy.com and we’ll send you a direct invoice.
2. Complete Some Pre-Session Forms
Once your booking is confirmed, you’ll receive an email with a developmental history form and several questionnaires.
These need to be completed at least one week before your 1:1 session.
Completing these forms ahead of time helps us understand your experiences and allows us to review your answers before we meet.
3. Attend Your 1:1 Online Assessment
Your session will last around 50–60 minutes. During this time, we’ll go through a structured process to explore traits commonly associated with ADHD and Autism. This also gives you a chance to talk through your experiences and ask any questions about the forms you’ve completed.
4. Get Feedback & Support
We’ll go over what we’ve observed and discuss next steps, including any strategies or support options that might be helpful. If needed, we can provide a brief summary letter for things like school, university, or work.
5. Receive Your Full Report
About 6–8 weeks after your session, you’ll receive a comprehensive report summarising the assessment findings and recommendations. This report can be used to support psychiatric appointments, guide therapy or coaching, and help plan any other supports that meet your needs.
No, a psychologist cannot prescribe medication. Psychologists focus on providing evidence-based therapies, assessments, and support for mental health and wellbeing. If medication is something you wish to explore, this will need to be done in collaboration with a medical professional such as a psychiatrist. They can assess whether medication may be helpful for your symptoms and provide ongoing monitoring if it’s prescribed. Psychologists often work alongside these professionals to ensure that therapy and any medication support each other for the best outcomes.
This combined ADHD and Autism assessment, conducted by a psychologist, is suitable for anyone who suspects they may have ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), or both. It is particularly helpful for adults who have experienced lifelong difficulties with attention, focus, social communication, executive functioning, or sensory processing, and want a clearer understanding of their neurodevelopmental profile. The assessment can also support access to tailored strategies, therapy, or accommodations at work, study, or in daily life.
If criteria for ADHD or Autism are met, the psychologist can provide a formal diagnostic report. Even if you do not meet full criteria, the assessment will clarify your profile and highlight strategies or supports that may benefit you.
Our fees are intentionally lower because accessibility is a core value of our practice. We are deeply aware that the cost of ADHD and Autism assessments has become a significant barrier for many people, often placing essential diagnostic support out of reach.
We believe that clarity, validation, and appropriate recommendations should not be reserved only for those who can afford several thousand dollars. Our aim is to reduce financial stress while still delivering a comprehensive, evidence-based assessment that meets professional and ethical standards.
No. This assessment is offered as a combined ADHD and Autism assessment because these presentations are highly co-occurring and can be difficult to accurately differentiate when assessed in isolation.
ADHD and Autism share many overlapping features, including differences in attention, emotional regulation, sensory processing, social communication, and executive functioning. Assessing only one can increase the risk of missed, incomplete, or misleading conclusions.
A combined assessment allows the psychologist to:
This approach supports a more thorough, neuroaffirming, and clinically responsible assessment process, ensuring you receive results that genuinely reflect your experiences rather than a partial snapshot.
Our priority is accuracy, clarity, and meaningful guidance - not just a single label.
The assessment provides clarity about your cognitive, emotional, and behavioural patterns. It helps you understand your strengths, challenges, and strategies to improve daily functioning, manage symptoms, and access appropriate supports at work, study, or in personal life.
No. This assessment is for individuals aged 16 years and over only.
No. There is no Medicare rebate available for this assessment.
Assessment sessions are non-refundable. Time is reserved specifically for you, and significant preparation, administration, and scoring are completed in advance.
Cancellations require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. If less than 48 hours’ notice is provided, your deposit will be forfeited.
